High Court Judges have made some very hard disparaging remarks about businessman Sean Quinn and his family not to mention questionable judgements and resulting jail sentences.
All of this seems to have taken place in a short space of time, not in keeping with the very lengthy processes we have become accustomed to in Irish Courts and Judicial process and Inquiries.
How was it possible to acquire sufficient evidence so quickly to safely make such Judicial decisions against the Quinns? It is amazing how the likes of the Planning Tribunal seems to have uncovered little over such a long period of expensive time.
Does anyone else get an uneasy feeling about the Quinn’s case?
Do the Courts have absolute autonomy and separation from other organs of State or can they be influenced?
The major demonstrations in support of Sean Quinn and his family strongly dictates and encourages a view held that Quinns are not being treated entirely properly. Some greater forces seem to be at work to try and put an end to Quinns!
I think a very serious law and order situation will arise whereby the judicial process and the functions of State will be challenged by the people. Irish people are generally very quiet but, when they do break it will be taken all the way to conclusion and will persist for a lengthy period of time.
The Quinn’s legal team have obviously missed out with quality defence issues. Most of the Judiciary in Ireland are themselves in very severe financial difficulties – not declared. The Quinn defence should have raised this issue and demanded that Judges involved in their case make a declaration that they themselves were not in financial difficulty. A major conflict of interest could arise. Indeed the Quinns are still not late to raise these issues.
This is something that has not been properly probed before. Are the crony elites immune? The same applies to politicians and indeed anybody in authority. Investigative Journalism in Ireland leaves a lot to be desired.
The people of Ireland need to do a lot more quiet proactive thinking and logical questioning of authorities in these difficult fiscal times.
The whole Anglo Irish Bank debacle with Sean Quinn and his family has become something farcical that will end bad.
End.
